Project Overview: The University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC) awarded AIMS Construction the contract for the construction of the new Heart and Vascular Institute. This ambitious project encompassed multiple phases and was designed to enhance UPMC's capabilities in delivering specialized cardiovascular care. The project was characterized by its complexity, involving over seventeen (17) distinct phases and multiple relocation phases for offices and personnel, all while work was performed in an occupied and operational healthcare facility.

Project Management Excellence: PDDM Solutions was entrusted with providing scheduling services to support the successful execution of this extensive project. Our responsibilities included:

  • Overall Executive Schedule Development: Creating a comprehensive executive schedule that outlines key milestones and timelines for all phases of the project, ensuring clarity in project execution.
  • Phasing and Transition Schedules: Developing detailed phasing and transition schedules that facilitate the smooth relocation of offices and personnel, minimizing disruption to the facility's operations and patient care.
  • Coordination of Construction Activities: Working closely with AIMS Construction and UPMC stakeholders to ensure synchronization of construction activities with the operational needs of the medical center.
  • Communication and Reporting: Maintaining clear communication with all parties involved, providing regular updates and reports to track progress and adjust schedules as necessary.
